As a friend of Book Harvest reading this blog, you already know that we work all year long to ensure that all our community’s children are growing up with plenty of books. Many of you are volunteers, committee members, liaisons, board members, book drive captains, organization partners, or other members of our community that help us realize that goal! But did you know that once a year, we pull out all the stops for our Dream Big Book Drive?
Dream Big is our annual community-wide celebration of diversity, literacy, and book ownership for all children. Schools, workplaces, congregations, civic groups, families, and individuals come together at this event, and we invite everyone to round up books and bring them to Durham Central Park on MLK Day, January 18 from 1-4 p.m.
Please help us realize our dream that ALL our children can grow up surrounded by books–start collecting books NOW for Dream Big! The books collected during this event will stock our Community Book Bank shelves and Books on Break distributions all year long. But we can’t fill our boxes to overflowing without the help of everyone in our community. So now is the time to start collecting books!
